Palm Palm Palm All The Way

Are you a palm lover who is into plantations and oil palm? Or perhaps some smallholders trying to find the best palm to grow in your field? Well, whatever it is, now I do not want to talk about the usual palm oil. But I want to talk about the indoor palm plants which we all can see in someone’s room, bathroom, balcony and office. Some meat has palm oil in it as well. Also, sometimes palm oil is good for your liver too.

The first one would be the Sago palm. It has stiff leaves growing upright from the trunk. This makes it looks like a pineapple. The good thing about this type of palm is that it grows very slowly and it needs to be put in good sight of light. Make sure to water it in spare, in order to prevent crown rot. When it has grown, and suddenly you’re experiencing loss of it, no worries, it has around a decade and five years of lifespan, so, chill.

The next one would be Yucca palm aka Spanish Bayonet aka stick yucca, it has razor leaves. But no worries, the pointy tips will not cut your fingers. Just like its thick stem cousins, the yucca is very tolerant of the drought. Because it is an indoor plant, you still need to expose it sunlight, either fully or partially. Another fact is that it is edible and you can gain vitamin C from the leaves.

The last but not least is the Cascade palm. It is not like other species as it does not get itself a central trunk. A lot of leaves will grow from its clump and not-to-forget, it’s a full palm. In the forest, its original habitat, this plant thrives to survive along streams and other wetlands. Thus, be sure to pull a systematic irrigation plan in your home. This plant enjoys shade and dim. All in all, there are myriad types of palms you need to know if you really love palms.  So buy organic palm fertiliser in Malaysia to get the most healthy palm tree in Malaysia!
